READING FOR DEEP COMPREHENSION? THINK IT ALOUD!
The think-aloud is a literacy strategy designed to help students monitor comprehension and direct their thinking as they work through the problem solving process (Lester & Head, 1999). It is defined as a technique which gives students the opportunities to verbalize their thoughts as they read a text or a book, and thus bring into the open the strategies they are using to understand it (Oster, 2001).
